Our story

Inspired by the ideal of the First Cuban Rum Maestro, Jose Pablo Navarro Campa “Rum is not for those who abuse alcohol, we want for lots and lots to drink a bit, and not for a few to drink too much” Cuba in London was founded by enthusiast David Mas, who loves Cuban rums and wishes to promote Cuban rum and culture in London. David originally learnt about rum from his Uncle in Havana, Cuba who in the 90s used to sell rums to provide for his family. David officially started in the industry in 2019, working in the bar Cubana and other pubs before working from  its opening at La Rampa, an MJMK company which was the first bar in London where Eminente was the house rum He progressed to be Bar Manager from 2022. After this he had a stint at another MJMK company, KOL Mezclareria, one of the top 50 bars in the world. David has decided to return to his origins by promoting light rums in the UK and was invited to participate as a Brand Ambassador of Cubay rum at Imbibe and The Rum Show by JBE Import Ltd.
